iTunes 7.1 mockup

To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.

The new iTunes 7 interface doesn't make much sense to me, so I've photoshopped this screenshot to put the icons in more logical places.

Firstly, the "browse" button has been put up with the other view options in the top right, where it belongs. This makes sense to me, since "browse" and "coverflow view" both act as similar ways to browse through lots of albums quickly, they both change the top half of the iTunes display, and they can't be used at the same time (and so belong on a radio-button bar). It will also help the many users who can't seem to find the browse button in 7.0! (Hint: they moved it to the bottom right. No, I don't know why, either).

As a side effect of this change, the remaining icons in the bottom right are now all "hardware related" (airport speaker selection, burning, and eject disc).

Similarly, I've moved the "show artwork in list view" button to the bottom left, right next to the "show artwork in source view" button. Again, both these buttons have a similar function, so it is logical that they should be placed together. These buttons should be greyed out when "Coverflow" view is active.

I've also made a slight change to the way the artwork buttons work: notice that they now glow blue to show they are toggled on or off (the same as the shuffle and repeat buttons). This introduces some much-needed interface consistency.

Note also that the "add playlist" button has been moved slightly to the left, as it serves a separate function to the other 4 bottom left buttons (and cannot be toggled on and off).
